I am a Visiting Professor in the Department of Business Economics at the University of Balearic Islands (UIB). My main research interests are in industrial organization and international trade, with a focus on firms' competition, multinationals and supply chains.
In my Job Market Paper "Procompetitive effects of vertical takeovers. Evidence from the European Union" I study the impact of different takeover strategies on markups and other firms' performance. Takeovers aimed at vertical integration strategies are pro-competitive because they result in lower markups, likely due to the elimination of double margins.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Italy where I am currently guest scholar.
I previously worked at the Directorate for Economic and Fiscal Studies of the Italian Ministry of Economy and at the Economic Research and Statistics Division of the World Trade Organization.
I hold a Master's degree in specialized economic analysis at the Barcelona School of Economics and a Bachelor's degree in economics at Bocconi University.
